Project Information

The big wooden fire truck is 21 inches, 3 i/2 inches wide, 7 inches high
made out of hard and soft woods
wheels turn. rear deck turns and ladder extends from 16 inches to 23 inches
Starting from the wheels . made out of oak, 2 inches by 3/4 and 1/2 inch dowels for axles and all the axle go through the one piece base . The base is cherry and body out of pine built in three parts
The Cab is 6 inches ,4 inches and 3 inches wide. Part behind the cab is 4 1/2 inches, 21/2 and 3 inches wide . It hold moveable spot light . Rear deck is 9 1/2 inches3 inches and 3 inches wide.It hods the moveable ladder base for the ladder turns and ladder goes up and expand to 23 inches .The side of the ladder had a wooden piston made out of different sizes of dowels so when the ladder goes up the piston moves. The fire truck has a clear coat finish , This fire truck a wooden copy of a plastic fire truck which did not last long so I made a copy from wood and has lasted a lot longer than the plastic version and my grand kids are still playing with it for the past 5 years

thanks -- lots of hours to build it -one of a kind building more for my grand kids four boys and they all want one

This is a copy of plastic fire truck . It was in the stores about 7 years ago, and it fell apart when the kids took it out of the box , so I made a close copy of it and it has lasted longer than the original.

This is a copy of a plastic fire truck, so no plans, that's amazing workmanship….very well done.
