This is my first project since I took Paul Sellers Foundational Course 1 and 2 I found this candle stick box in a Country decor book and made it for my sister-in-law. I modified it to also be a key set holder. I used a coping saw to do the design and engraved the fleur-de-lis with hole puncher. I made it look old by banging the wood with bolts, pieces of metal, flat head screwdriver, etc. I made the fake cracks with a chisel by starting at the edge with medium pressure and as I moved away from the edge going to a lighter and lighter pressure. I used Old English stain to give it an old look.

I’ll post more details if anybody is interested.

Well done. You really got my attention with the Fleur de Lis – Saints fan?

Nope, Green Bay Packers fan :) Born in Madison, WI but I liked the design so I used it. It was a gift for my sister in law.

Have your say...
