I had posted the treated rocking chairs I have on my projects list to Craigslist asking a modest $150 for both. I got some horrible offers and ended up just keeping the things; people would rather pay $88 for bottom of the barrel lowes rockers and watch them fall apart in a year than pay for some genuine handcrafted stuff (Arg!). Anyways a woman whose husband stars as Santa around the holidays asked if I could make a Santa chair. Well I asked them to come by to see what their expectations were. I made this thing out of just normal #2 SPF lumber found at lowes. I planed all of the stock before assembling it with mortise & tennon joinery and some sliding dovetails. I did not do the painting or upholstery. Sorry for the rants and enjoy!

Looks great! Should be quite rewarding to see one of your pieces being used for such a happy event.

pay “

I think 8 out of 10 people buy Asian goods over home goods because of $$$.
we cant compete with workers being paid 20 to 50 dollars a week about : )

I do like that Santa chair and 150.00 doesn’t sound like a bad price.
