Made this as a gift for my Step-daughter.

Sides are Morado. Top is bloodwood trimmed with walnut. Didn’t think to take more pictures at the time. The inside of the lid has a little piece attached that holds the recipe cards when the lid is open.

Finished with 3 or 4 coats of wipe-on poly.

Thanks for the kind words.

I forgot to mention that I found out the hard way that I’m allergic to the dust from Morado (Bolivian Rosewood).

While I was sanding in the summer. It was hot and, naturally I had a fan going. Unfortunately for me, I had it blowing on me. (yea, learned my lesson there) Long story short, I developed a rash on my face, chest, arms, and neck that took a week of medication to get rid of.

I’ve used Morado since, because it’s just beautiful wood, but I have the dust collector going, the fan blowing AWAY from me, and I take a shower immediately after sanding it.

Lesson learned.
