Hey there Lj’s. Havent been too busy lately :/ but here is a new mirror frame I had built for my living room. Its roughly 2’ x 6’ made of recycled cedar off of an OLD dock. I left the rough sawn look to it for character and rustic looks. Opens the living room up very well. Very simple project. YOU CAN DO IT!

thx grizz…..no timber framing yet, just practice. My union won’t support us to get into that field. All we do in this union is commercial and industrial work. We barely ever get to work with wood. And yes my wife was taking the pictures while I was watching “gold miners” on tv and I noticed in one shot she could see me so I waved :P

Grumpy…Yep I just lapped the corners and then cut some cedar 1/2”x1/2” at 30 degrees on my table saw for those little squares. I left them rough as well and didn’t place them exactly on the same spacing so it looked more rustic. I stained the frame with “summer oak” and the little squares I stained dark walnut.

Jim this was a very easy and quick project. It was all FREE at that. My uncle gave me the lumber and the mirror came from an old closet door that I tore down a while ago.

Oops, that is the gold miners show! I really like Shelby, the crazy Cajun dude, on Axmen… he cracks me up.

Cheers,
