A couple of lift lid boxes

Whipped off a couple of lift lid boxes with some scrap I had. These are made of oak with a spalted birch lid and black walnut accents. Finished with a coat of shellac then a couple of coats of BLO on top.

The spalted birch is a great contrast to the oak bases. Nice looking boxes…how big are they?

Those look like slabs of spalted maple… are they? Nice work!

Thanks for looking. These are the small boxes, only 3.5” square. No spalted maple in the photo, thats hidden at another part of the property… In the photo is a piece of fir and some birch firwood in the background.
