For Christmas, my daughters (almost 6 and almost 3) asked for a bunk bed for their dolls. I’m a beginner who owns practically no tools – I’m working on that – but I found this simple pattern and decided to give it a shot. The only tool I bought for this was a Kreg jig mini. I made a couple of cuts with my dad’s old circular saw, but mostly stuck with hand saws and a miter box. I can live with its imperfections – the joints aren’t quite square and the top of the ladder rail isn’t flush with the top of the bed rail – and I learned a few things along the way.

My wife sewed the mattresses, pillows, and quilts. It was great to give the girls a gift that we worked on together, and they love it!

Very nice. I made the same bed for my daughter for Christmas, but I had the benefit of my table saw.

“The ladders not flush with the top rail”.......that’s it, the whole thing has got to be torn apart and redone!
I’m sure your daughters loved it. Nice job.
