Thanks Guys. Its rewarding to build something out of a tree that I cut and dried. I built it on my CNC mill so very little tallent was actually required. :-)Thanks again.

Matt, nice to see a boat project, and from material that boats should be made of. It inspires me to get some pictures and post some of my boat projects. What kind of boat?

Hi Rob,Its a 50 foot ketch. Designed by Bruce Roberts. The keel was laid down in 1989. I took it down to bare steel then coated it with PPG amercoat 240. (after a lot of repairs)The deck and wheel house exterior is complete. When the weather permits I will blast and paint the hull then spray in the foam insulation. By the time thats finished, the wood I have in the kiln should be ready for the inside stuff. The inside is going to be white oak and walnut trim, with white laqure ceiling. unless I change my mind, and that happens about twice a week…....

I think I will splash her in about 2 years. ( I started july 10 2010) I plan to live on her here in tennessee for a year or so just to shake out any issues that may develope. Then off to the carribean. I have a buddy in St. Kitts so I might hang out there for a while. Who knows which way the wind will blow.
