This is a bed that I made for my dad and for some reason this is the only pic I could find. I really need to go over to his house and get some finish photos. Any who, as you can see this is the base for the mattress. As you can also see this is the basement I used to work out of. Pretty tight. I had to make the base two peices in order to get it out of the basement. The bed is made from cherry with walnut beading. The inner frame is made from 3/4” plywood. It has four bearing slide drawers on each side. I believe I finished it with and oil. Not sure what though. Hopefully I can get more pics so you can see the head board and finished bed.

Looks nice and solid. It also reminds me my uncle who is a professional woodworker. One of his first commissions was big enough that when it came time to deliver, it didn’t fit through the door of his shop.

Moral of the story: “Measure twice” isn’t just for cutting.

Nice bed it looks great ,it can be really tough working on big items in small spaces.

Boy, Working in a low ceiling basement is tough. Make me thankful for my shop.. Nice bed frame. The storgae feature will be very nice to have.

i noticed this is for your father. what does your bed look like? I would bet that it’s a beautiful work of art, you must post pictures of it for all to see!
