Figured it was about time I posted a project!
I made this for my friend’s three year old grandson for Christmas.
It’s my version of Stevinmarin’s slit drum.
The top is reclaimed 100 yr old Honduran mahogany. The sides are Maple with some tiger striping that I came across in the big box store.
The finish is 3 coats Natural Watco Danish Oil wet sanded to 600 grit on the final coat. Followed by 3 coats spray laquer sanding to 320 between coats and 600 on the last and buffed out with a couple of coats paste wax.
A special thanks to the LJs that helped with my finishing question.
-- Tom Finnigan - Measures? We don't need no stinking measures! - Hmm, maybe thats why my project pieces don't fit.
