Made a couple of these boxes based on the plans in a recent Wood Magazine issue for Christmas presents. Of course, I made a few minor changes: dovetailed (instead of rabbeted) drawers, and no top cross-bar, giving them the “horned” appearance. They were well received, I think.
These were a lot of fun to make. Woods are soft maple and walnut, finish is wipe-on poly.

Mark, they are from issue 209, the issue currently on the stands (Dec 2011/Jan 2012).
