This is a functional Christmas present for 3 of my GS’s. My DIL wanted a bench to sit on back patio that the boys could use to sit in to take off their dirty shoes before coming in the house.

The stain is a dark walnut. My wife likes that one too. We started using the water base polyurethane and you can hardly tell it has it on it.

Well, this bench is good inspiration to me! I’m planning to build two benches for the kitchen table and no one likes the idea of backrestless benches. Seeing yours inspires me a lot. When done, it’s gonna be posted here at LJ. Great project! Thanks for posting.

Best

Serge

Funny thing my DIL wanted this for the outside under their new patio awning but when I delivered it she said it was to pretty to be outside and put it inside the house. I guess I’ll have to her make an ugly one to go outside.

Thanks for the comments Serge and looking forward to seeing your project outcome.
