Several years ago when we had our kitchen redone, I thought we’d use bamboo for the flooring. I was worried about gouging, so we used the bamboo on the ceiling and loved it. Had quite a bit left over and decided to try it as a ceiling in the bathroom because for high humidity situations, bamboo seemed perfect. I have a house that was built in 1926 so there aren’t many or any square corners and plumb walls. This was my first effort. Worked fine so did the upstairs bathroom, too, this picture. Downstairs, there was no ceiling fixture to deal with. Upstairs there was. Found these lamp shades at Restore for $1 each and created this look for them. Those are plugs covering screw holes for the bamboo plate I made out of the tongue and groove bamboo slats.
