Hey everybody out there HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!....thanks so much for all of your great comments on my projects and also on my workshop blog.

Glad it brought fellow woodowkorkers out there some enjoyment.

This project is all about using what you have with what you got… make something for the enjoyment of seeing how far….or small you may go…

A little play on words here… keep the post entertaining…this is my FILE CABINET OF MYSTERY! (No worries….you will not see my cable bills, Insurance, etc… no….these files are just for fun…lol)

I had some small oak dowel and gave it a shot at turning….the smallest handles I ever would dare try on a springpole lathe…lol….but….. try I did yoda.

With some nice Maple stock I had leftover, I wanted to try a box…some sort of almost Asian feel meeting the traditional American/Europeon styles…...or just call it…what was in Joe’s think tank at the moment…lol

So many of you out there do amazing boxes…...and being so early on in messing around with this woodcrafting stuff….I realized….I should try a box out…so I figure if I did so, I would try to make it look interesting and MYSTERIOUS!!!!..LOL.

Took some old plywood I had….which I thought might look good against the maple…and made a lid.

The side dadoes were done with my scribe and chisel…a learning experience…indeed.

Lot’s of small and tedious work to exercise on this project, challenges and puzzles…..rewards and some mistakes.

Thanks to anyone who cared to drop by and take a look, everything is all handmade from cope saw, handsaw, files, chisels, planes, etc.

A new ground to walk on….so I took a chance and here it is my….... FILE CABINET OF MYSTERY!

Be well and take care

Well Joe looks like you enjoy your hand tools and appreciate them enough to give them a nice place to live and keep them out of harms way .
great job on the box looks well done and organized and the handles turned out great too.

This is a really great project and I love the “play” on words that you used to describe it. This, again, is a really well done piece.

Wonderful file box Joe, hope you don’t mind if I borrow the idea! My ‘file box’ project just finished last week is below, not as elegant but sure needed it.
