This is one of three stools that I built. They are of quarter sawn oak. the legs are 2 inch square and turned on my copy lathe which I posted on my page not long ago. It took about 25 hr’s to do all three. they are mortise and tenoned and peged.one problem was that I didn’t have a cutter to do the shape that the person wanted ,so I had to make my own.the easiest part was making the turnings. Once I was set up It took about six hours to turn them. I went as slow as I could because I didn’t have any extra stock and couldn’t mess up. 6 hrs for 12 legs. I would have shown all three but didn’t have enough room to shoot them. they are shown un-finished because someone else is going to finish them.I don’t know there weight but they sure would do a number on your toe.

Beautiful. Look like a pretty hefty individual could plop down on one of those. Should be very sturdy stools.
