This is a cherry and walnut box I made from reclaimed wood from my father-in-law. The walnut are boards he had as siding for the barn and the cherry is from an tree he cut down and tuned into planks a few decades ago so I can safely say that they are well seasoned. Both the cherry and walnut has beautiful colors. I have a thing for boxes and always have several in production during my furniture builds just in case I need a little break from the larger project and a quick and easy win and they are always good practice for hand cutting dovetails. The box is finished with 3 coats of lacquer that I sprayed on and then rubbed out to 1000 grit abralon.

Wow, those are nice dovetails. Great looking box with a history.

Great dovetails with a nice contrast of the walnut and cherry. Nice job with the sapwood and how it shows.
