This is a Bear I carved on a deck railing post. The wood is Tamarack, in some areas it’s called Larch. I have some growing on my property. Check out my Blog for a video slide show.

Dick, I do love your work. This bear is cute and lovable. The photo seems to indicate that the poor little guy is unhappy – hope that’s not the case what with your beautiful surrounds.

The depth in the carving is quite remarkable. It almost looks like the head of the bear protrudes beyond the dimension of the log – which I assume is not possible. Nice work as usual Dick.

Dick, do you ever sleep? You have made so many wonderful things, carved such nice projects and make videos. I don’t know where you find the time, but am glad that you do.

I missed this one the 1st time around. I absolutely love your deck. All the carvings in such beautiful, peaceful surroundings. Marvelous.
