Tray chic :-)

My friend’s wife recently had a 50th birthday. I tried to work with him to figure out what to make her.

Cutting board ? “But we don’t cook !”

Tea box ? “Those are for people with free space on their counters ?”

Jewelry box ? “Then, I’d have to buy her jewelry !”

Okay. I’ll figure something out.

Scrap African Mahogany sides and ends. QSWO, T&G, for the bottom. Watco Danish Oil—“Natural”—for the finish.

What will they DO with this thing ? Hmm. Not really my problem, now is it ? ;-)

Nice tray, Neil. Tell him it’s for holding take-out menus. :-)

I am sure your friends will be as inspired and imaginative as you were.

I love the wet look…....is that in again these days?

Cool. You know, I commented on another project and called it ‘chic’, but wondered ‘do real LJs say chic’; now I have my answer.

Thanks, All.

Agreed. Ellen nailed it. Included that instruction in the little gift message.

Jim: I sweat when I work. The wet look, then, is … unavoidable ;-)

Don: In truth, I hesitated a bit, too ;-)

Charlie: take-out menus LOL ! You know this couple, then …. !

Happy New Year, everybody. I cooked big. We ate big. We got to sleep by 10pm, and woke up still full. Hope you all were equally decadent and self-destructive :-)

Crossing my fingers for a great 2012 for us all …..
