this is one of 3 that i have made for my grandfather and a mentaly challenged kid my mom cares for. this project was very easy just cut a scrap cut off down to about 8 in by 5 inch block of 15/16 stock but a 15 deg angle on the table saw and cut 3 slits 1 1/2in apart and routed out the sides and slap a few coats of miniwax wipe-on wood polish and its good to go, doing this project made me want to make about 20 of these and donate them to a few retirment homes in my town

Interesting and good idea! Good move.

May make a few for myself since I’m retired and rather senior. (Which brings up a question: If a person can’t hold his cards, should he be using a table saw?)

thanks for the post,
Dale

I too am going to make a few. My Mother-In-Law loves cards but is struggling to hold them. Thanks for the inspiration!

Not only for the elderly but for the very young as well. I have beaten my 4 year old daughter in 1000 straight hands of “go fish” because she keeps exposing her cards to me when they fall out of her hand. She may actually be able to win a game with this device.

Think I’ll make a few of them there card holders. But will try something different. Maybe put a “fence” on three sides so if you’re playing a four-hand, your neighbour won’t see your hand….will post…if it looks good.
