My mother in-law has been asking for a large salad bowl for a couple of years. I came into possession of a 20×24x4 piece of African Mahogany. The pictures show the process in reverse. The last showing the rough blank and the second is me flattening one face so that I can attach a sacrificial block and the face plate. The rest is pretty obvious.
The finished size is 19.5” x 3.75”

Thats a very big bowl. I hope it is to hold salad for the whole family, if not she really gets into eating salad..
Great bowl either way. I really like using mahogany. It’s so pretty when finished..

Yes, women love large bowls. I made one for my wife of a similar size out of maple, not quite as deep
She calls it her 30 person salad bowl.
