My mother in-law has been asking for a large salad bowl for a couple of years. I came into possession of a 20×24x4 piece of African Mahogany. The pictures show the process in reverse. The last showing the rough blank and the second is me flattening one face so that I can attach a sacrificial block and the face plate. The rest is pretty obvious.
The finished size is 19.5” x 3.75”
