I had a very slow week at the shop so I decided to let the nerd come out. This is solid Maple chunk and ebonized Walnut, the frame is black lacquer with a Cocobolo accent. Lots of little pieces and a very tedious finish (inlay all the pieces, sand, ebonize the walnut very carefully, two coats of shellac, four coats of gloss lacquer and then wet sanded to a mirror finish oh and a partridge in a pear tree.)
