Project Information
Here's another Christmas present, a small end table for my sister. Again, nothing special construction-wise, with all hand tool work and mortise and tenon legs/apron. The bottom is painted (black enamel) and the top is shellac on madrone. This was my first attempt at a shellac finish, and to tell the truth, I'm not terribly excited about what you get for the effort involved. I also made the mistake of using a shellac that was too orange, thus changing the way the madrone looked a bit too much for my taste. Next time I will either use a lacquer finish or, maybe, experiment with a blonde shellac.
