Early knocking out some new years resolution projects
So as we enter January – it is time to have the cub scouts in the shop for the pinewood derby cars.
Which means…...Now I have to clean the shop.
Since I have some ” Use it or Lose it time” to burn, it was time to knock out those little projects that I never seem to be able to get to during the normal evening hours during the year.
Both my wife and I have been taking courses at Marc Adams School outside Indianapolis for the past few years, but the name placards were just being set on the pen tray for the whiteboard, and was getting full and falling down. So it was time to finally ‘solve the problem’
Really simple construction 36 tall, 15 1/2 inches wide with 2 inch rails.
There is a 3/8 by 3/8 rabbet at the back for the placards to be dropped in from the top.
Inside edge was beveled at the tablesaw at 20 degrees, and the outside has a simple double ogee because that is the bit i picked from the rack.
Mitred corners cross pinned with brads.
Red oak, with 2 wiped coats of waterlox original.
