This is a bookshelf that I made for my girlfriend who is an avid reader. It’s mostly 1x pine and plywood with pine casing to trim it out. Finished with a clear poly. Liked it so much that I’m probably going to end up building one for myself.

Something that I forgot to add in the description is that I cut the bottoms of the sides on a (if I remember correctly) half degree angle so that it leans just slightly backward into the wall. I think that I’m overly paranoid, but if it gets bumped or knocked into, I wanted it to have less of a tendency to fall forward on someone with a whole bunch of weight.

-- I played with Legos as a kid and I never had the part I thought I needed, so I learned to improvise. Now I'm an engineer with a woodworking hobby.

Yeah, this was a project I did for her back when I was still trying to impress her. Now she can’t get rid of me, heh heh heh.
