Constructed from cedar and finished w/ poly/blo/min spirit mixture. Forstner bit was used to make the recession for the rank insignia. I glued red felt for the rank insignia background. The individuals nickname is “Q”, so I thought he would get a kick out of the Q which was placed on the front of the box. The lid was edge glued and further secured using pocket screws. I picked up the cedar at Lowes because its pretty cheap and I really like the knots and grain of the wood, smells great too! Thanks for looking!

Love it!!! I like the Q addition. Very neat idea. Most military folk can really appreciate this trunk, I for one. He/she should really enjoy it. Nothing quite like having an element of ‘home away from home’, when you are.
