My grandson is getting his first big boy bed, and I was asked to make him a step stool to help him get on and off . The stool is a trapazoid with a 5 degree slant in both directions to give it stability. His sister started calling him Mister Reed when he was a baby, hence the lettering on the step. The letters are rub-on vinyl and match the font of some other decorative lettering in his room. Much to my relief, my wife volunteered to apply the lettering. The wood is reclaimed oak and is finished with dark mahogany stain and satin varnish.
