Here’s a tea box I made this month to propose to my girlfriend on Christmas. I didn’t have much time to make it so I had to make due with what wood I had. My neighbor actually gave me an old entertainment center so I cut that up and put it to good use.

You’ll see I had some issues on the corners with the splines not fitting all the way but I’m still working at getting the perfection of box building down. =) Comments, critiques, ideas/help….all welcome.

When she opened the box there was a poem about tea on top so she couldn’t see under it. Then she was all excited to open up and see it’s for tea. And then really surprised and shock to see a ring in the middle. ;) lol And yes, she did say ‘yes’.

A nice gift and sneaky proposal. And you used recycled wood!

As an avid tea drinker myself: Great box!
And congratulations on the engagement.
