Another tool my grandfather gave me a H.C. Marsh Miter Box. It was patented in 1890, but couldn’t find when it was made, it has a 13 on the bottom. I think the saw is the original one that came with it, its a E.C. Atkins 24” long. Thaks for looking. Any help on the history would be appriciated.

Wow! If Don sees this in the saw thread, you may have to lock it up. Very outstanding find!

Very nice. I love the old style like this. Even better that it came from your grandfather, so that it has a family history with it.

It’s very cool to have tools from our family members, they means so much more that ones we buy ourselves.

Picture framing miter box, I have one EXACTLY like that except mine is patented January 8 ‘07 on the miter box. Same saw patented Dec. 27 1887. Did you get the extention bars that mount in the square holes and help to support long material? Does anyone know how to bring up the etching printed on the saw blade?
