I was inspired by the small workbench posted by Trev_Batstone. Inspired by the simply but functional design, and the “FREE” wood he used. I started looking around and realized I have plenty of scrapwood, so why not. The table is build with a 2×4 frame, joined with pocket screws. Eventually I will learn some joinery techniques, but that’s what the table is for.
The top is trimmed 2×6 and some Teak strips, well…cause I had them. It was an old yard bench a buddy of mine threw away. It’s got a couple coats of poly to attempt to make it glue proof, but we will see how that goes. Final cost…$0.
The bottom shelf is 3/4” MDF, which I don’t care for, but it was what I had in the shop. Maybe I will spring for a nicer plywood for the deck. I would also love to add a vise, but that takes me over the FREE price, so it too must wait it’s turn.
