Hey guys. It’s been long enough. I should post a project. I have been really bad about taking good progress and final pics of my work, but I won’t let that stop me. So, this will be a dump for a few of the random things I’ve made this past year. I think I just need to get these out of my system before I can get into the practice of posting my work as I create it.

Up top, you’ll see pics of a mallet I made, a shower plumbing access panel, my straight edge/taper jig, a scrap/storage bin, and a couple shots of my experiments milling my own lumber with the chainsaw. The mallet is made from a pallet and the bin is made from sheathing and lath from my father’s house. The slabs are mulberry, I think. In the last photo, you can also see some blocks that I’m working on engraving for my daughter.

Also, here’s my facebook album with some of the cooler stuff I’ve done – shelves, cabinets, and other things:

I’ve got a couple shelves and tables commissioned right now that I actually have been documenting my progress on. I’ll probably get around to posting those sometime next winter!

Thanks for looking!

UPDATE: Apparently you need to be logged into facebook for that link to work.

Jesse, They all look good. I like the way you turned the access panel into soemthing useful with the hooks.
How did you mill the wood? Do you have a chainsaw mill? This is something that I am working on as well.

Thanks Chris! Actually, the wood for the access panel was store bought poplar. A handful of my projects aren’t reclaimed wood, depending on the customer’s needs.
When I mill my own lumber, I freehand with the chainsaw. This works fine since I am only ripping smaller logs that I can move around without any extra apparatus.
