This is not my project, but I wanted to share it. It was a bookcase built by my Father-in-law. It is a great design. I did have a small part in it. I sprayed the finish on it. It was built, stained and then he had some trouble with his spray gun. Since I am always set up to spray, it wasn’t big deal just to spray a couple coats on it, especially if I didn’t even have to get my hands dirty with the stain step.

It was built using oak wood with some Walnut accents pieces. Walnut was used on the key at the top of the arch and for the Plinth blocks on the bottom. It is topped with a mission style crown to give it a clean look. I also love the slight figure in solid oak used in the arch. The plywood back also ended up with some.

The adjustable shelves are capped with a custom molding. There are 5 showing but a 6th one was provided if smaller items are displayed.

The overall dimensions for this bookcase are 41”w x 84 1/2”h x 14 3/4”d.

I didn’t put in the write up about the color. I believe that he used Red Oak from Minwax.
