I carved as a gift to my sister, a while back. The horse came off of a calendar picture. Calendars are a great place to find carving patterns. The Mahogany for this is from crate lumber from a friend of mine who worked in Liberia for 10 years. They shipped his belongings back in it.
The size of this is about 8” x 10”. Depth of carving, about 1/4”.

Excllent! I like the “green” aspect – recycled from crate lumber.

Another Dick special!

Dick, it never ceases to amaze me how we have wasted timber over the years. I guess we are still squandering many of our resources through ignorance.

Good to see you reversing that with your art.
