I build this for my wife the week before Thanksgiving. It is the first build in attempt to furnish our house in the Arts and Crafts style. I purchased the wood (quarter sawn white oak) from a saw mill located in Woodsfield, Ohio. It is all locally purchased wood and as you can see is beautiful. I got the plans from one of Popular Woodworking Magazine’s publications and finished it using a formula they came up with to give it a look as if it had been fumed. My wife really enjoyed it.

You can’t go wrong with the A & C style. You did a nice job on this book case…the oak is beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

There’s some nice attention to detail here with a real lustrous finish.
A fine looking case, fill it full of woodworking books and maybe a few on cooking too.
