This was a fairly simple project without complicated joints… all butt joints, screwed and glued… But, wow, it turned out quite nice. The screw heads are black and recessed and don’t seem to detract. Plus the screws on the top shelf are not visible from eye level when the rack is mounted on the wall.
A 2 day project and rave reviews! This Christmas present was very appreciated!

Thanks Jim and Paul. I checked out both your projects… the rocking chair is very cool and the sander… wow, i have considered building one like this for a while. Very well done.
Paul, does the sander do well enough to flatten the top of a dresser? I built two dressers and took one to a guy with a 30 inch sander. It had to drums on the top and to be honest it didn’t do very well. it took me about 30 or 40 minutes of hand sanding to make it flat. The second dresser i took to a cabinet shop that had a 4 foot sander with a belt. It was amazing to say the least but I’m guessing the sander cost them an arm and a leg… plus it wouldn’t fit in my shop anyway. Do you have problems with ripples from the drum?
Have your say...
