I made 3 of these step stools for Christmas gifts two are pine with maple pivot dowel’s and one is all cherry.
I stained the two pine stools using Minwax Early America stain. The finnish is a water base Poly. The Cherry stool has no stain just a water base poly on it.
The gal’s love them! I got the plans from Mac here on lumberjocks. You can get the plans on his page.
Thanks again Mac! http://lumberjocks.com/projects/52684.
