I built this picture frame for my father for christmas. He is now 81 years old. This past summer he took my brother and I to his old home place in Floyd Co. Va. where his dad was a tennant farmer. The picture shows my father at five years old holding his puppy on that farm. The photo was taken in 1935.
While we were visiting the farm my brother was able to “Aquire” a piece of the barn that was still standing on the property when my father was a young child. I thought it would make a great gift. The wood was hard to work with as nothing was consistant. I had to do a lot of the work by hand to make things fit. Im not a very good picture frame builder but I think this will do.

That is a great idea, well chosen wood for the subject of the picture.
