I was inspired to do this carving from a co-worker that for a time was down on his luck. Now that he moved on to better things, we still pass it around the shop once in awhile as a joke if someone has something dumb happen to them. This is my first figurine I’d ever done! It came out pretty good I think. As with all the other stuff I carved this out of barn wood pine, sketched it out, bandsawed out the big chunks, used my carving tools and sandpaper to do the rest. I black gessoed the whole piece, let it dry, sanded it, then applied the oil paint, letting the black show through a bit. I drilled out the hands so we could stick stuff in them, like a small tool and some schematics.

That’s how I feel after a long hard day in the shop! And for some reason I can’t wait to get back to work the next morning!

That’s awesome. I’d hate to receive it though.

This is fabulous! I’ll bet everyone can relate to it! And your execution is exceptional, from the hanging head to the slump of his shoulders! Priceless!

I would buy one in a minute….......have you considered marketing?
