This is what I did with the leftover piece of pine I had, to do the large chest. the top is 17.5” across, one solid piece. The frame I salvaged from a barn I took down last year at about this time and cleaned and repaired it, attached the top to it, and sealed it with Valspar sealer. If it had been anyone else they’d thrown it out. The bottom frame part was actually part of an anique baby basenet. It still had the basket with it when I found it but, the basket was too far gone to salvage. so I made a table.

An interesting table; it would have been interesting to see the arched pieces on the outside.
