This is the first whitetail I ever killed. I think i was 17. Took him at 97 yds, from the ground. I shoot a .50 muzzleloader with 100gr. I made a crude mount, this is the new one. Just a lil 6 pointer basket rack. But he made some darn good sausage.

Nice to make a mount for your own buck you shot. I did the same years ago and I still have it. They hold a lot of pride and yours was with a muzzle loader!!................Jim

The one that’s buried out back is the one i took this year first bow kill. Hes small as well. I figure one day I will get to taking the big ones, but right now its all about meat in the freezer. Oh and I bury the skull so the “bugs” will clean it off for me, only takes a few months, and there’s not really a mess.
