I cannot get myself to throw away ofcutts from expensive wood. I abohr waste of any kind. After making some cutting boards recently I carefully piled it into my little offcut bin. One night I sorted through the mess and carefully puzzled together a squarish shape out of the remnants. And because Im a sucker for punishment went and glued them together. It was approx. 8” x 6” and 3/4” thick. I made a base 1” thick in the middle and 1-3/8” arond the edges with a pine post left over from my sons old Ikea bunk bed. The glue-up was crosscut into 3/8” thick strips and laminated on edge into the base. Some inevitable sanding ensued but I really liked the end result.
