This mallet is meant to be used, not to be pretty.

Head dimensions 3 5/8×3 5/8×5 3/4
Handle length 16”
Wood White oak, doweled and laminated together.

The handle seems to be uncomfortable to everyone else that comes around except one other person, but I fitted it to my hand so… I guess it’s just unlikely to walk off. There are many things that take several strikes with a dead blow, that this mallet will drive in one fell swing, with no added force other than the weight of the mallet

Nice mallet, and a big’un too!

Your post caught my eye as coincidentally I made a very similar one today using scrap hickory for the faces and handle, and scrap beechwood for the inner part of the sandwich. I put a dowel all the way through to help insure it stays together. Mine measure 3-3/4”x2-1/4” and is 3” thick with a 10-1/2” handle.

Contour the handle a bit so that it’s comfortable ;)

My thor hammer is made out of an old barn beam with a popler handle.

EN MI TALLER ME HICE VARIAS DE ÉSTAS MASAS, PERO ÉSTAS SON LAS QUE MEJOR QUEDARON ;-)
In my workshop I took SEVERAL OF THESE MASSES, BUT THESE ARE THE BEST THAT WERE ;-)
