That is a beautiful jewelry box. The maple burl door panels and drawer fronts are outstanding. Your brother-in-law is lucky to have you around to make such wonderful gifts for his wife!

Fabulous! I love the combination of walnut and the maple burl. I really like the drawer on the inside and match of the grain pattern from a single board. Nice job on hanging the doors – I always have trouble with butt hinges.

The drawer fronts are some of that amazing curly-sappy cherry. The but hinges are a challenge to me too. I measure as close as I can and use blue tape to try and keep everything aligned while I mortise and drill then shave the doors to cover any imperfections. I also have used hot melt or CA glue to hold the hinges while you align and drill. Works best on no mortise hinges.
