Various Projects Vol. 2

These are a few more of my projects built within the last two years. The pics from left to right top to bottom are:

#1 – 1 of 3 matching Walnut medal hanging boards.
Last year I started running regularly and was training for a marathon. Having found lots of ideas (expensive) of displaying my running achievements I came to the conclusion that I should make it myself. This is my display taken about 6 months ago. I made 3 of these. The other two were for my running partners. The dowels are Oak and they were finished with Minwax Poly Shades Walnut and Polyurethane.

#2 – 1 of 4 matching Cherry medal hanging boards.
Similar to the first pciture except these were made for my wife and son, a coworker and his daughter. These were made by recycling the seat from some broken dining chairs. The dowels are Oak and it was finished with Cherry Stain and Polyurethane.

#3 & 4 – 3 of 4 matching walnut keepsake boxes before staining.
These were the first items I made out of walnut. The corners were mitered and the top was routed to set down inside. Very basic and turned out nice. These were for my wife, mother, sister-in-law and my grandmother. I can’t seem to find any finished pics at this time. they were all finished with Minwax Poly Shades Walnut and Polyurethane.

#5 – 1 of 2 Walnut Dresser Valet Boxes prior to staining.
I made two of these. One was given to my new brother-in-law at his wedding. It was finished with Minwax Poly Shades Walnut and Polyurethane. The other still needs to be finished for myself. I’m such a procrastinator.

#6 – Walnut Mirror Frame for my Aunt.
My Aunt asked my to make a mirror with a small shelf and this is before putting the mirror in place. It was assembled with pocket hole screws and finished with Minwax Poly Shades Walnut and Polyurethane.
