Recently acquired a lathe and felt creating a new mallet would be a great starter project. I have been staring at my scrap pile and these three pieces (maple, purple heart, & walnut) jumped out at me and screamed MALLET! So here it is my finished project. Thank you to all who have viewed and commented on my 1st project that I posted.
Mallet is approx a total of 12 5/8” long – handle is 9” long, head is 3 5/8” x 2 1/4” wide (slightly tapered)

Wow that’s cool ,great woods and that long handle should give you a lot of hammering power.

Nice first project on the lathe. I don’t think the kids will be getting out of line any more. lol (just joking. i do not advocate beating children at all)
What type of lathe?

Nice mallet genaro. Sometimes my scrap pile screams at me too but I can’t repeat what it says. Anyway, great project. Thanks for sharing.
