My first attempt at a bowl. My son and his family are home for the holidays. He brought me a Brazilian cherry blank. With a little coaxing from him we went to the shop last night. Finished with Renaissance Wax. Heres the finished product. Thank you Mike, for the blank and the push!

That is a beautiful bowl. I’m just starting to practice with a lathe and I hope my first few attempts look so nice. In your pictures where you are finishing the outside of the bowl, how are you holding it to the lathe? Did you turn and finsh the outside prior to turning the inside?

Thank you all for the kind comments. It was on a faceplate to do the outside of it. Then onto an expanding chuck for the other side.

Thanks Mike. Tried staying up for a bit to show it to you. But the old man could not keep his eyes open!
