Cherry Desk with spalted maple panels. All solid wood raised panels that are turned to the inside. Front four panels are all from the same flitch and I was kind of disappointed with the way the bookmatch came out. I guess you take this risk working with spalted wood. Finish is waterlox. My first project of this size and it took me awhile to build it in my garage. Haven’t built the drawers yet and left that open that you can see in the last picture.

Sure is easy on the eyes. Looking forward to seeing it finished up with some drawers.

well i know you wanted that look of book match, but with spalted wood, you just wont get it, but you did a beautiful job, it caught my eye right away…..would love to see it when the drawers are done, great job
