I acquired this piece of cypress after someone’s botched attempt to coat it with a plactic finish. I first coated it with a variety of copper, bronze, and brass emulsions in a kind of random pattern that I then treated chemically to make the patina. After drying and washing I finished it with solvent lacquer. The base is a hexagram of 2×4’s held together with lengths of 1” EMT, all painted metallic green basecoat clearcoat lacquer. It’s about 45” in diameter.

That’s a dandy Clint, cool looking table. Welcome to Lumberjocks!

That’s something you don’t see everyday! Thanks for posting. Nice job. As a chemist, I might have to do a little experimenting with this idea.

I get most of my metalic emulsions and patination chemicals from www.sculpnouveau.com. The process is so interesting and fun that you have to watch out that you don’t get carried away and patinate everything that doesn’t move.
