This is my first “big” project done with an exotic hardwood – African Mahogany. I got a deal on some leftovers from a contractor’s job, and then finished it off with some purchased from Rockler (at least I got free shipping). It was really easy to work with except for the very fine red dust. It was dustiest wood that I have worked with in my short time working with wood. The finish is three coats of Arm-R-Seal. Next time I’ll tackle a longer taper on the legs. Otherwise, I am pretty happy with the results especially the color.

Yeap Mahogany is dusty alright, that’s for sure. Great job on the table looks really nice!

Great project Jeff. Nice size and symmetry. My first time working with mahogany was a refinish job on a similar end table. See my project at http://lumberjocks.com/projects/25781

The color really works well with your floor. I think the Arm-R-Seal was a great idea. I used it on mine as well and has stood up against countless coffee mugs and wet drink glasses.

Smart looking table, very nice.
