I just finished these three boxes as Christmas gifts. Two for daughters and one for my mother-in-law. Had a blast making these and am now setting my sights on something more ambitious.

Wow, those are beautiful. Excellent work. May I ask what the core of the boxes is made of? MDF? Maple? Other?
They are gorgeous.

Thanks all for the kind comments – These are made with MDF core, and then veneered. The black on the tops is 3/16” polycarbonate which I routed to make it a one-piece application without seams. The interiors are simply fitted with Ultra-suede material. The necklace pouch has an elastic top to create the simple pouch. I got the engraved monograms at Things Remembered at the mall – great buy at $13.00 each… Once again, thank you all for your kind comments.

I was referring to the mortise lock. I am not finding the round key hole protector…thanks.
