Hello again everyone and happy holidays! I haven’t been in the shop to work on much since this spring but boy it feels good to be back.
I originally had no intention of building this rocking horse. However, about a month ago I took my two year old daughter with me to Woodcraft to do some window shopping for myself. While we were there, my daughter lit up on a horse that had been created as a display model to advertise the plans that were for sale. I don’t have them sitting in front of me but if memory serves me, they were ” Family Tradition” plans. My daughter just loved it so my Christmas plans were set in motion.
The horse is red oak, half-rope trim, macrome hair.
The plans I purchased were a disappointment. The full size templates were great, but the directions were abysmal.

I always love to see rocking horses, the plan I got for the one I built was bad too. My daughter is 2 1/2 and she loves to rock on hers. Looks like a merry christmas to me. It turned out great, really well done.
